Flexible Transport Data Logger MSR175 with Two Selectable Shock Ranges and Climate Monitoring

High-precision transport logger with 2 acceleration sensors ±15 g / ±200 g · up to 6400 readings per second · sensors for temperature, humidity, pressure and light · over 2 million storable readings · air cargo approved

Whether for liability clarification, early detection of transport damage, or packaging optimisation – the high-speed MSR175 shock data logger, approved for air freight, records critical events such as shocks, impacts, and temperature fluctuations with precision, providing objective measurement data for full transparency and traceability.

Reliable transportation monitoring and precise damage documentation

The two integrated 3-axis acceleration sensors (±15 g and ±200 g) detect shocks with a high sampling rate of up to 6400 measurements per second. This enables even brief, intense shocks to be detected and analysed with high accuracy – a crucial advantage when transporting sensitive or high-value goods.

The generous memory capacity allows – depending on the model – the recording of more than 1,000 shock events and over 2 million readings. This storage capacity ensures continuous monitoring over long transportation routes, even under demanding conditions.

Additionally, the MSR175 documents temperature profiles from -20 °C to +65 °C. Depending on the model, humidity, air pressure and light conditions are also recorded – for a comprehensive evaluation of all relevant transportation conditions.

Simple to use – efficient in evaluation

The software package for the MSR175 includes three powerful tools – free of charge:

  • MSR Dashboard for easy configuration and fast USB data retrieval
  • MSR ReportGenerator for compact, instant reports at the push of a button
  • MSR ShockViewer (basic version) for precise analysis and visualisation of shock events

Whether for a quick overview or detailed evaluation – these intuitive programmes not only save you time, but also provide reliable data to optimise your transportation and quality assurance processes.

Rely on accurate data, not assumptions

FAQ – frequently asked questions about MSR data loggers

Shock Data Logger MSR175: Optimising transport processes, minimising the consequences of damage, saving costs

The most important physical parameter that should be monitored in a transport and logistics chain are accelerations. Shock events can have a negative effect on the mechanical structure of any industrial object or commodity. The MSR175 shock data logger helps to uncover the causes of damage.

The most important physical parameters that should be monitored in a transport and logistics chain are accelerations. Shock events can have a negative effect on the mechanical structure of any industrial object or commodity. MSR175 data loggers help to uncover the causes of damage. In the course of any transport, extremely costly damage can occur to sensitive goods such as electronic products, machines or works of art due to improper handling. This may result in loss of sales due to defective goods, unplanned subsequent production and considerable claims for damages due to delayed production start-up or inability to deliver. In order to be able to accurately record and conclusively document high-risk transportation stresses, such as shocks or knocks, the corresponding acceleration value should be recorded more than 1,000 times per second. This also enables you to capture and analyse jolts in their frequency characteristic. With its two acceleration sensors (±15 g and ±200 g) and high measurement frequency of 6,400 measurements/s, the MSR175 shock data logger meets this criterion as well as the requirement to obtain acceleration values in all directions (x, y, z).

Checking and documenting prescribed limit values

Not only can goods be damaged by shocks or vibrations during their transport, they are also exposed to temperature, pressure and humidity fluctuations, which pose a risk. MSR175 transportation data loggers can also be used to accurately record climatic values and subsequently, to evaluate and archive these values very easily, using the automatic report generation feature.

Ultimately, the MSR175 transportation data logger helps you to accurately identify problem events and thus save significant costs.

What do we mean by a jolt or shock? What methods can we use to detect damage to cargo caused by shocks? And which MSR data logger is best suited for which measuring task? Learn more about it in the Basic Information on Acceleration Measurements Using the MSR145, MSR165 and MSR175 Data Loggers.
